Dal Segno

Dal segno (D.S.) means 'go back to the sign' — look for a special squiggly % symbol earlier in the piece and start playing from there. Like da capo, it's a roadmap instruction that tells you to repeat a section without writing it all out again. Mark these navigation points in your score so you don't get lost during performance.
