Natural

A natural sign (♮) cancels a sharp or flat, returning a note to its unaltered pitch — the white key on the piano. You'll see naturals when the composer wants to temporarily override the key signature or cancel an earlier accidental. Always look out for them; missing a natural is one of the most common sight-reading mistakes.
