Melody

The melody is the main tune of a piece — the part you'd hum or sing along to. When playing the piano, the melody is usually in the right hand and should always sing out above the accompaniment. Shape it with subtle dynamic changes, bringing out the high points and softening the quieter moments so it really tells a story.
