Pentatonic

A pentatonic scale uses only five notes instead of the usual seven — on the piano, you can play one using just the black keys. It has a beautiful, open sound that's found in folk music, blues, and jazz all around the world. Try improvising on the black keys to hear how naturally musical the pentatonic scale sounds; it's almost impossible to play a wrong note.
